Family Dog Foundations

No Prerequisite
Pups over 6 months old at the start of class and adult dogs
Pet parents and their pups who are over 6 months at the start of class will learn

  • How to communicate effectively with your dog

  • Build a solid foundation of skills

  •     Sit

  •     Lie down

  •     Stay

  •     Come when called

  •     Walk politely on leash

  •     Polite greeting
     

Family Dog Manners

Prerequisite Family Dog Foundations
Using skills learned in the "foundations" class this course will focus on teaching your dog to become a well mannered member of your family including

  • Reliability on the "Foundations" exercises even during distractions

  • Putting skills to use in the real world

  • Calmly greeting guests and dogs

  • Heeling

  • Instant stop

  • Wait

Prerequisite Family Dog Manners
Take your dog's training to the next level

  • Intro to off leash work

  • Distance commands

  • Working with more demanding distractions and conditions

  • Emergency recall

  • Emergency stop

Canine Good Citizen Prep Class

Prerequisite Family Dog Manners
his 6-week course will cover the skills necessary to successfully complete the AKC Canine Good Citizen test which is open to purebred and mixed breed dogs.
The test items include:
1. Accepting a friendly stranger
2. Sitting politely for petting
3. Appearance and grooming
4. Out For a Walk (walking on a loose lead)
5. Walking thru a crowd
6. Sit and down on cue and stay in place
7. Coming when called
8. Reaction to another dog
9. Reaction to distractions
10. Supervised separation.
The last class will include administering the AKC Canine Good Citizen for each student.

Trick Dog Novice 

Prerequisites: Family Dog Foundations

Join us at this fun and functional tricks class. Your dog will learn tricks such as

  • Spin

  • Touch it

  • Shake hands

  • Push ups

  • Kiss

  • High five

  • Fetch

  • Hand signals

  • and more.

Tricks will build your bond and communication skills with your dog. Join us to discover practical applications for the tricks you learn in class. Students will be eligible for the AKC Trick Dog Novice title (open to purebred and mixed breed dogs) at the last class.
